I love this guy but distance is separating us?

he is aware that I have feelings towards him but he remains silent. we communicate through email and texts. since nothing works after the confession, i thought of giving it a new try by sending him a letter so that he can understand me more and that would be rather personal compared to emails or texts. I'm confused if this is okay or if i will upset him by sending him a mail? I'm so uncertain. please enlighten me.
